We Light as One - Philippine Sound System Industry

We heal as one.  We light as one.  We will shine as one.

As we celebrate Easter Sunday, the first-ever united effort of the Lights and Sounds Industry of the Philippines will come about as they join together to simultaneously illuminate all corners of the sky with bright rays of white light in honor and to pay tribute to our healthcare workers who are on the frontline, battling against the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.

Tagged as WE LIGHT AS ONE, this momentous activity will take place this Sunday, April 12 from 7:00PM to 8:00PM.  The event will be participated by various lighting and audio groups nationwide coming from the National Capital Region (NCR) which includes CAMANAVA, Quezon City, Manila, Pasig, ParaƱaque, Muntinlupa, Taguig, Pasay, Mandaluyong, Marikina; Southern Luzon provinces that include Laguna, Cavite, Tagaytay, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon and Bicol; Northern and Central Luzon comprising Bulacan, Zambales, Bataan, Pangasinan, Baguio, Ilocos, Pampanga, Isabela and Nueva Ecija; Visayan Region including Cebu, Bohol, Dumaguete, Bacolod, Iloilo and Leyte; and for Mindanao, we have Davao, General Santos City, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga and Butuan, among others.

Participants will be illuminating the sky simultaneously with white light using beam lights, par led lights and/or laser lights, to symbolize faith and hope for all our frontliners and victims of Covid-19 and new beginnings for those who have won their combat against the virus.

The idea of lighting the sky concurrently came from Mr. John Gopez of Xtreme Lights and Sounds, Pampanga.   It was his initiative to come up with an activity to honor our frontliners for their dedication in serving the Filipino people amidst this Covid-19 pandemic.

Going through the possibility of making it feasible, Mr. Gopez sought the opinions of his other colleagues in the industry until they all agreed to make his idea materialize.

Mr. Sandy David of Pro BeatBox Entertainment Concept and Mr. Anthony Lim of VPro Digital Solutions Corp. brainstormed and came up with the recommendation to make this activity more significant and substantial, they made it to a fundraising activity wherein profits will benefit our healthcare workers, to provide for their needs, giving priority to PPEs.

Subsequently, a team was organized to handle the nitty-gritty aspects of putting up this activity to ensure its success –
Thomas Lopez Fondevilla of Mainpro Professional Audio and Lights, Ramil Llanzon of Retxed Professional Lights and Sound, Jivson Duncan, Zuy Geonzon of ZuyJaz Lights and Sounds and Edward Iwad Ilagan of PINE Events for handling administrative works including announcements and updates in social media accounts and coordination with participants to ensure that all rules and safety measures will be followed; Mark Reyes of AEpro, in-charge of media coverage; Dick Dominguez
of Sound Level Production Equipment Rental (Rizal), Philip Santos of ForscInk Inc. Professional Lights and Sounds (Quezon City), Dave Domingo of Show Image, Inc. True enough, the team’s hard work and sweats have paid off.  To date, “We Light As One” has accumulated a total donation of PhP 1,002, 412 both collected and pledged, and are expecting more to come.  Special mention to Pampanga Group for having the biggest share amounting to PhP 311,500. Every single centavo will be bestowed and endorsed to select foundations and organizations, not only within Metro Manila but other provinces nationwide through their respective representatives.

“We Light As One”, an hour of solidarity of the Philippine Lights and Sounds Industry by giving light and hope to our frontliners, that they may have the strength and courage to help our brothers and sister who are in need and helpless.  “We Light As One”, an hour of paying tribute and honor to our frontliners for being the light and hope to our brothers and sisters whose lives may be darkened by illness, grief or are presently struggling due to Covid-19.   “We Light As One”, an hour of showing our gratefulness to our frontliners for their dedication and commitment in saving others’ lives even it would mean risking their own lives.  Above all, “We Light As One”, an hour of devotion and worship, turning to God as one for our nation’s healing and recovery and giving gratitude for God’s mercy and continuous blessings, for shedding light on humanity.

Let us all overcome this darkness with light.
Let us all witness the light of hope this Sunday, 7:00PM.
